Altars + lowriders + live music = En Memoria: our first ever Dia de los Muertos celebration! Join us this Saturday, Nov. 4 for the inaugural event. Here’s what to expect:
Altars: We’re partnering with local artists to build a community altar, where guests are invited to leave a photo of their lost loved ones for Dia de los Muertos. In addition to this, we’re inviting those participating in the lowrider exhibition to build their own altars next to their vehicles.
Lowriders: We’re inviting the local lowrider community to join us for En Memoria. We’ll be hosting a hop competition and displaying all the lowriders on the Fairplex infield. Show off your autos and check out what others are working on.
Music: The Subsuelo Crew is bringing DJ Gazoo and DJ Ethos to drop some beats for us before The Delirians and Las Cafeteras take the stage for live performances.
Live Art: Hilda Solis’ office has partnered with us to bring live art to En Memoria. Local artists will be creating beautiful pieces throughout the day.
Food: Our event partner, Dia de los Puercos will be whipping up some bomb tacos and taquitos for us, while Mi Cafecito Coffee will be serving up delicious beverages and desserts. We’ll also have an assortment of other food trucks available for grub.
We’re very excited to introduce this event to the local community and we hope you’ll join us for a full day of art, food, music and cultural celebrations. For more information on En Memoria, visit MiPOCOLA.com.
