A couple months ago the Millard Sheets Art Center participated in the #PSTInstaswap. 40 institutions hosting Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA exhibitions swapped locations for a day to explore the art and culture happening outside their own spaces.
Each institution was assigned a specific swap. We swapped with the Riverside Art Museum, who hosted “Myth & Mirage” — an exploration of how Californian architects and designers adapted Spanish Colonial, Mission, ecclesiastical and native elements to create romanticized perceptions of our state.
In exchange, the Riverside Art Museum social team visited the Millard Sheets Art Center to check out our hosted exhibition: “One Path Two Journeys” featuring the artwork of Judithe Hernández and Patssi Valdez — two brilliant, strong artists known for influencing the aesthetic voices of Latinas in the 20th century:
We had a blast doing the #PSTInstaswap! Special thanks to the Riverside Art Museum team for partnering with us.
Explore “One Path Two Journeys” at the Millard Sheets Art Centers, Saturdays & Sundays 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. now through Jan. 28. Admission is FREE! Free parking at Gate 1.
