INFOGRAPHIC: Modern Pentathlon History

It may be called ‘modern’ but the event  is more than a century old! Introduced at the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm, the first Modern Pentathlon event only had one US Olympian, the future Gen. George S. Patton.

Since that first year, athletes have trained hard to become masters of Modern Pentathlon, competing in numerous competitions, from the World Cup events to the Olympic Games.
