WOW, what a great weekend! The rubber smell is still in the air, and we absolutely love it!
On Saturday and Sunday, we celebrated horsepower and torque at the 2nd annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Street Machine & Muscle Car Nationals.
Our grounds were filled with high-performance muscle cars, pro-touring cars and street machines from across the country. Guests did not only take pictures of the cars, shared car tips and enjoyed the burnout contests, but they also enjoyed live music by Queen Nation and Joshua Tree.
On Sunday, March 15, we had The Graffiti Run 5K. This fun and colorful event was perfect for athletes and couch potatoes alike. The goals of the event were to drench you in color and for you to have fun with family and friends, not to see who would run the fastest! Being there sure made me feel like jumping up and down, but too bad I was not dressed appropriately. I won’t miss the next one.
On Sunday, Family Winemakers hosted its 16th wine trade and consumer tasting on our grounds. The tasting featured approximately 150 of the state’s unique, small family-owned wineries pouring more than 500 wines. Many of those wines aren’t generally available in the Southern California market, so people definitely took advantage of the opportunity to explore great California wines.
In addition to the cars, wine and amazing colors from the 5K run, the RailGiants Train Museum was open this weekend!
As I walked around, I was taken back to the glory days of the American Railroad. The throwback was really nice since we sometimes forget about the methods of transportation that do not include our vehicles.
The museum is open free of charge to the general public the second Saturday and Sunday of each month. So, there is no reason why you can’t stop by and appreciate the Union Pacific Centennial DD40X diesel-powered locomotive, which measures nearly 100 feet in length, and weighs over a half million pounds.
