Fairplex Weekend Recap: Three festivals, one campus

October 20, 2014

It was another rockin’ weekend at Fairplex!

We had not one, not two, but three festivals happening at Fairplex, all at the same time. We stopped by on Saturday to see how things were going:

We started the day off at the Ramen Yokocho Festival. Inside Expo Hall 4 we found a beautiful car show, the Doraemon art exhibit and folks chowing down on bowls of Ramen (of course.) All the Ramen vendors were situated outside and the entire walkway was full of the delicious scent of noodle broth.

Of course we had to try some for ourselves.

Next up: Moon Block Party. This festival brought music fans of all ages together for a full one-day festival that included rock bands like The Black Lips and Band of Skulls to our infield. There were art displays, clothing and jewelry vendors and food trucks too. Spoon closed out the night with style to an adoring crowd.

Last but not least, we stopped by our own Oktoberfest. Weekend #2 was even more lively (if that’s possible) than last week. If you weren’t doing the Chicken Dance with The Rheinlanders inside then you were probably rocking out to Led Zepagain in the courtyard.

It was fun to see such diverse events at Fairplex this weekend. From the artsy folks at Moon Block Party to the families enjoying themselves at the Ramen Festival to the partygoers at Oktoberfest, it seemed like everyone had a great time.

The fun doesn’t slow down for us any time soon — We have our final Oktoberfest celebration (Oct. 24-26) and The Color Run (Oct. 25) coming up, and then it’s time to celebrate Halloween in the form of the HARD Day of the Dead EDM festival (Nov. 1 – 2.)

Thank you for coming out and joining us this weekend! We hope to see your faces again soon!
