Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo (Oct. 4-5): The Off-Road Expo features a gigantic collection of off-orad parts, equipment, gear and experts all assembled at Fairplex. Racing, rock-crawling, trail riding, sand sports, motorcycles and ATV industry experts will be on-hand to answer questions and talk shop. For more information visit offroadexpo.com.
Red Bull Straight Rhythm (Oct 4): The debut of Red Bull Straight Rhythm motocross racing is happening this weekend at the historic Auto Club Raceway at Fairplex. A 1/2-mile track has been built directly onto the speedway, where motocross pros will go head-to-head in a competition of speed and skill in this evolutionary event. Los Angeles Haunted Hayride (Oct. 2014): It’s opening night of the annual Los Angeles Haunted Hayride at Griffith Park’s Old Zoo (which is rumored to be haunted year-round anyways.) Get spooked at The Underworld that includes new mazes and Street Drum Corps. Does that name sound familiar? They performed at LACF in the Pirate Adventure zone! Rise of the Jack-O-Lanterns (Oct. 2014): Bring your family and friends to the opening night of the Rise of the Jack-O-Lanterns at Descanso Gardens. This all-ages event features more than 5,000 hand-carved jack-o-lanterns created by professional artists and displayed beautifully throughout the Rose Garden section. Good Food Pie Contest (Oct 5): Spend your Sunday Funday with KCRW at the sixth annual Good Food Pie Contest at the Fowler Museum. Hoom cooks and professionals compete to see who makes the most delicious fall pies, judged by top chefs and food writers in the L.A. area.
