L.A. Weekender: Drags and hearts

While most Valentine’s Day dinners and events are sold out by now, there are still a few places you can go either for free or a fairly reasonable price! Check out what we have in store for this weekend:

NHRA Winternationals at Fairplex 

NHRA Winternationals (Feb 12 – 14): If you’re a fan of racing, head over to the historic Auto Club Raceway to watch the start of another exciting drag season. Tickets are available for purchase here. Visit the NHRA Winternationals page for a schedule of races and additional info.

Palates & Palettes (Feb 13): Wine, delicious food and creativity are all elements of a perfect date night. Join us at the Millard Sheets Art Center for an evening learning to paint Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh, while enjoying wine and food from his homeland, The Netherlands. Pomona Art Walk (Feb 13): The monthly downtown Pomona art walk is this Saturday. Enjoy a relaxed evening in the arts district and shop, dine and browse art galleries with your date. It’s a great way to support the local community while spending some one-on-one time with that special someone. For more info click here.

Malibu Wine Safari (Feb 13 & 14): For those of you looking for a truly special date night experience check out the Malibu Wine Safari, happening now through Valentine’s Day! Take your date on a wine tasting, animal feeding adventure. The Malibu wine safari offers multiple wine tastings while exploring wildlife both native to and not-so-native to Los Angeles. Lady & The Tramp at El Capitan Theater (Feb 12-15): If you (or your sig. other) likes Disney, this is the place to be for Valentine’s Day weekend. Enjoy a screening of this timeless classic while dining on, what else, but spaghetti and meatballs, served from L.A.’s oldest Italian restaurant, Miceli’s. Tickets available for purchase here.
