L.A. Weekender: Oktoberfest at Fairplex

It’s going to be another warm weekend at Fairplex, but thankfully most of our events are in the evening when we finally get to experience a little fall weather. It’s going to be busy over here and we can’t wait! Keep reading for this week’s edition of the L.A. Weekender:

Oktoberfest at Fairplex 2013

Oktoberfest at Fairplex: Oktoberfest 2014 opens tonight and will run every Friday-Sunday from now to October 27th. Stop by for some beer (in giant steins, of course), bratwurst and lively renditions of the Chicken Dance. If you tire of oom-pah-pah, we also have fabulous tribute bands playing on our outdoor stage, starting this weekend with DSB (Journey cover band.) Prost! www.oktoberfestatfairplex.com.

Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival: The Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival at Fairplex wraps up tomorrow. We recommend our crafty and creative readres to stop by from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. for free seminars and workshops and check out the latest machines and supplies for quilting, embossing, needle art and other crafty activities. AMA Flat Track Finals: If quilting and crafting are a little too quiet for your taste, check out the AMA Pro Track Finals this Saturday at our Grandstand! It’s the final round in the AMA Pro National Championships and is highlighted by unique motorcycle themed activities and competitions. Visit www.fairplex.com for more information.

Pomona Art Walk: Head over to downtown Pomona for the bi-monthly Art Walk. Many shops, restaurants and galleries stay open. Dozens of galleries also feature artist receptions. For more information visit www.downtownpomona.org.

Kings vs. Jets: The Dodgers and the Angels may be out of postseason MLB, but hockey season is back! Catch the Los Angeles Kings at the Staples Center as they compete against the Winnipeg Jets this Sunday at 7 p.m.! Tickets available here.
