Cirque Du Soleil’s Kurios (TONIGHT!): Forget Vegas, Cirque du Soleil’s “Kurios: Cabinet of Curiosities” opens this weekend in Los Angeles! Journey into the past with jazz, swing and steampunk-electornic performances. As with all Cirque shows, jaw-dropping acts carry the show from start to finish. See it tonight at Dodger Stadium. Holiday Half Marathon (Dec 12-13): Tis’ the season for generosity, love and… running? The annual Holiday Half Marathon is this weekend at Fairplex! The fun starts early Saturday morning at the Kool n’ Fit Festival. Runners can pick up their running packets and bibs and check out health and fitness booths. We will also be hosting the Penguin Waddle Kid’s Run and the Holiday 5K on grounds! The actual Holiday Half Marathon begins bright and early Sunday morning with the first wave at 8 a.m. The Kool n’ Fit Festival continues from 6 a.m. – noon. For a full list of events, click here.
Rail Giants Train Museum (Dec 12-13): The Rail Giants Train Museum is open to the public this weekend. Explore the ins and outs of these gigantic trains and chat with our docents to learn more about each engine’s unique history. Admission is FREE for all ages. For more information, click here.
Pomona Christmas Parade (Dec 12): The annual City of Pomona Christmas Parade is this Saturday. Onlookers will spot LA County Fair floats in the procession. Head to downtown Pomona to check out the sights from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. For more details, click here.
Fairplex Garden Railroad (Dec 13): Check out the Fairplex Garden Railroad this Sunday! The miniature world is decked out in holiday cheer, including not-so-tiny Christmas trees and garlands strung along the gates. Our docents will be present to answer any questions you might have. Hoppy Holidays (Dec 13): For the craft beer set, Angel City Brewery is hosting Hoppy Holidays. Sip on a chilled brew, eat at Papas Tapas and check out clothing from 35 local artisans from the Arts District. In the holiday spirit, bring a winter coat to donate to the Skid Row Housing Trust.
