Happy Friday! We’ve swapped out lowriders for burnouts this weekend at Fairplex with the arrival of the 2017 NHRA Auto Club Finals! Here’s the scoop on what’s happening:
NHRA Auto Club Finals (Now – Nov. 12): Drag racing is an integral part of our past, present and future. Did you know that the NHRA drags started here on our campus?
The historic Pomona Auto Club Raceway is not only home to the Winternationals and the Finals, it’s the birthplace of drag racing as we know it today.
Come experience the excitement and drama of the Finals for yourself this weekend at Fairplex!
From the roar of the engines to the smell of burnt rubber, the drags are a one-of-a-kind experience that you won’t soon forget. Tickets on sale now at NHRA.com.
Train Runs: Both the RailGiants Train Museum and the Fairplex Garden Railroad are open to the public this weekend!
Visit the giant, historic locomotives at the RailGiants museum Saturday & Sunday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and the miniature, detailed landscapes of the garden railroad Sunday, 11 a.m – 4 p.m.
Free parking and entry for both events at Gate 1, off of McKinley Ave.
We hope to see you this weekend, whether it’s to join in the adrenaline-pumping excitement of the drag races, or the quieter, but equally interesting train activities. For more information on all events and other programming at Fairplex, visit us at Fairplex.com.
