Today we had the pleasure of hosting two special guests at Fairplex: Comedian, actor and writer Cheech Marin, and Riverside Art Museum curator Todd Wingate.
If you visited the Fair in September, you might have seen the PST LA/LA One Path Two Journeys exhibit at the Millard Sheets Art Center. This special Chicano art exhibit is part of the larger Pacific Standard Time art initiative throughout Southern California.
Cheech is an avid Chicano art collector, and actually lent us several pieces from his Patssi Valdez collection. It was great to walk with him through the exhibit and to hear his thoughts on the art as a whole.
The Riverside Art Museum is also participating in the Pacific Standard Time LA/LA initiative. We enjoyed connecting with Todd and talking about both of our museums’ experiences in being part of this wonderful project.
Thank you to Cheech and Todd for hanging out! It was a pleasure to meet you both.
