Things were pretty busy at Fairplex this weekend. It was the opening of our month-long events Oktoberfest and Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare and we hosted the AMA Flat Track finals on Saturday night.
Oktoberfest was a blur of cheers, beers, food and the Chicken Dance. The Festhalle was a hive of competitions, dancing and feasting (pretzels and steins as far as the eye could see.) The Festplatz was equally packed as people rocked out to Queen Nation and chowed down on their bratwurst sandwiches and loaded waffle fries. More than 3,000 people came out on Saturday night alone!

Just across the way, Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare was eliciting screams and adrenaline-pumped fun with their three new haunted houses and performances by the likes of 3Oh!3, Twiztid and Kottomouth Kings.

And adding to the noise (quite literally), was the AMA Flat Track Finals in the Grandstand. You could hear the roars and the cheers of the event from the Oktoberfest AND Rob Zombie entrance gates as dozens of bikers raced around the track.

All in all, we’d consider this weekend a success! Can’t wait for Thursday when it starts all over again with Oktoberfest and Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare, round 2!
