…and all of a sudden, it was May. Sure, it’s overcast now, but it won’t be long until the temperatures start to rise and another month of fun events begins. Here’s what we have coming up:
Ross / McCracken Learning Expo (May 6): This free, family-friendly event celebrates the exciting aspects of science, math, the arts and education as a whole.
Students can participate in hands-on educational exhibitions while parents can learn how to get their children into college. Free parking + admission; located in Expo Hall 9. Open 12 – 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 6.
This event is co-sponsored by Fairplex, Pomona’s Promise, Pomona Unified School District and the City of Pomona.
West Coast Historical Militaria Collectibles Show (May 11-12): Explore a huge assortment of militaria antiques and collectibles covering a span of time periods and countries. Adults: $10, Kids: $5; active military and their families are free! Parking is $12 at Gate 17, located off Fairplex Drive. The show is located in Expo Hall 4. Foam Glow 5K (May 12): While treasure hunters are busy exploring the aisles of the Militaria show during the day, runners and weekend warriors can find their fill of fun at the Foam Glow 5K throughout the rest of our campus at night! This fun run invites guests to run, dance, skip and stroll through a three-mile course of glow-in-the-dark foam. For registration and additional event info, visit here.
48th District Schools’ Agriculture & Nutrition Fair (May 15-19): If you know Fairplex, you know that agriculture is a big focus for us. We’re thrilled to once again host the 48th District Schools’ Agriculture & Nutrition Fair this month!
This week-long event features thousands of agricultural-themed projects from 100+ schools in Los Angeles, as well as exhibits from various ag organizations from the county, showing our agriculture (water, plant s, bees, fiber, food an dairy) affect our everyday lives.

Mission Circuit Dog Show (May 24-28): The final weekend of May goes to the dogs… literally. The Mission Circuit Dog Show returns to Fairplex with 8,000 competing for awards and t op honors. Admission is FREE! Click here for more info.
Canine Scent Work Competition (May 26-27): Scent Work is a sport that celebrates dogs and their innate sense of smell. Based on the work of professional detection dogs,
The Scent Work competition challenges dogs to search (sniff) for cotton swabs saturated in essential oils in a search area. When the dog finds the scent, he/she communicates the find to the handler, who communicates this with the judge.
