We had a great weekend at Fairplex, despite the heavy torrents of rain that hit us Friday and Sunday. Here’s what we had happening on campus:
Los Angeles Boat Show
The Los Angeles Boat Show was reigning king this weekend as guests shopped kayaks, cruisers, jet skis, catamarans and more.
It may have been overcast outside but just one brief walk through the LA Boat Show and we were daydreaming of sunny days at Lake Havasu and leisurely trips on the Pacific Ocean.
Farm at Fairplex Projects
Meanwhile out on The Farm, our volunteers and Farm kitchen staff were busy canning, planning and taking care of our livestock.
We started our weekend by infusing small batch liqueurs. They’re now all set to go for the next Chef’s Potluck Dinner on The Farm.
We were also busy canning the last of our San Marzano green tomatoes in a miso pickle base.
In addition to all of this, we also sorted and cleaned Turkish eggplants. These will be prepped to try into an eggplant jerky. Stay tuned to see how that turns out.
All in all it was a productive and fun weekend, rain or no rain. That being said, we’re definitely looking forward to clear skies and a gorgeous view of the mountains in the days ahead!
