Dozens of entrepreneurs, inventors and families stopped by the SoCal Maker Convention at our grounds this weekend. Everywhere you looked people were enjoying themselves – children were entertained by the drone races, parents saw how trash will soon be taken out and hobbyists were in complete awe by the robots. Check out this quick video:
The driving force and motivation behind this event is the emerging “Maker Movement” – a movement of amateurs, hobbyists, entrepreneurs, DIYers, students, and professionals united by nothing but the common desire to tinker, design, hack, innovate and invent.
The great thing about the Maker Movement is that it is not a movement you join. It’s a movement you’re already a part of as long as you have a fundamental curiosity about the world and the basic human impulse to create something.
With that said, start thinking and build something. You’ll be surprised by how much fun you’ll have. 🙂 Hope to see you next year!
