Wow October has zoomed by! It seems like only last week that we were shutting down the L.A. County Fair and starting preparations for Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare and Oktoberfest. Throw in the Bubble Run, myriad extreme sporting events and expos and it’s no wonder that October is truly the busiest month of our year. We are more than ready to put the engine on cruise control for a little while.
Not that we’re slowing down, exactly… Here is what’s going down at Fairplex this month:
NHRA Finals: Things are about to get loud… Really loud. It’s no secret that Fairplex history intertwines with drag racing. We play host to the NHRA Auto Club Finals next weekend (November 7-10th) and are prepped for some stellar racing at the prestigious Mello Yello Drag Racing Series world championships.
The Auto Club Raceway at Pomona is the oldest venue on the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series circuit and has seen many thrilling races over the years. For additional information visit www.nhratix.com
Wonder of Dinosaurs: If you grew up with The Land Before Time and Jurassic Park or if you relate to Ross Gellar from Friends, this exhibition was made for you. Wonder of Dinosaurs invites guests of all ages into the primeval world. Attractions include more than 100 robotic and static dinosaurs, dino rides, bounce houses, mini-golf and gemstone & gold panning. We’re excited to welcome this exhibit in late November and hope you can stop by and join us for the fun. For more information visit www.wonderofdinosaurs.com
Graffiti Run 5k: Thanksgiving is coming up and with it comes the inevitable weight gain. Stave off that holiday poundage with a fun jaunt through our grounds… getting splattered in paint of course 🙂 The Graffiti Run is perfect for athletes and couch potatoes alike. The main goal is to have fun. For more information visit www.thegraffitirun.com
It’s the start of the holiday season and we are excited to celebrate the last two months of the year. Stay tuned for updates, fun party ideas and behind-the-scenes at Fairplex!
