From all of us at Fairplex to you: Happy Halloween! Have a safe and festive evening.
Every year our Community team hosts a neighborhood Halloween party for the families surrounding Fairplex!
It’s always a fun time: kids in brightly colored costumes playing games, getting their faces painted, picking up pumpkins and, of course, plenty of candy to go around.
Thank you to all the parents and children who participate each year! We love spending time getting to know our neighbors.
It was non-stop Halloween fun this weekend at Fairplex! Check outt our events from our guests’ perspective:
Halloween at Oktoberfest
We extended Oktoberfest an extra weekend this year for Halloween. Guests put on their favorite costumes, filled up their steins with beer and danced the weekend away with us. Thanks to the non-stop entertainment from our tribute band, oom-pah-pah performers and DJ, we can definitely say it was a Halloween celebration to remember!
RISE of the Jack O’Lanterns
Our family-friendly Halloween event, RISE of the Jack O’Lanterns, was a truly unique sight to see. We couldn’t believe the intricate work the pumpkin carvers did, creating elaborate jack o’lanterns consisting of 5,000 pumpkins.
All in all, we had a fantastic Halloween season! From our Neighborhood Halloween party to the final walk-through of RISE, this has been one of our favorite years to date. For more information on upcoming Fairplex events, visit us at Fairplex.com.
The RISE team has spent the past few days diligently carving intricate jack o’lanterns in Expo Hall 4, and today they opened the doors to us.
To say we were impressed is an understatement! We couldn’t believe the creativity that went into this Halloween exhibit, from the giant Darth Vader head to the giant serpent made of dozens of jack o’lanterns strung together.
We have had a lot of events come through over the years, but we’ve never seen anything quite like this!
We don’t want to ruin too much for you so we’ll leave you to explore Rise of the Jack O’Lanterns for yourself!
Hope to see you here this weekend!
Use #fairplex and tag @fairplex in your social media posts! We would love to share in your experience with us.
Every year our staff and volunteers host a festive, candy-filled Halloween party for our neighbors and their families.
Our Farm is transformed into a land of tricks and treats: bounce houses, games, crafts, a hay maze, food, drinks and our very own pumpkin patch! We love meeting and spending time with the folks who surround our property and we’re thankful for the staff and volunteers who take the time to make all of this happen.
It’s going to be an exciting Halloween weekend here at Fairplex — this party is just the beginning!

Halloween is easily one of the best holidays to celebrate at work. Not only do people bring dishes upon dishes of food and candy, but we all get a chance to come to work dressed up in some pretty scary, creative and creative costumes.
Earlier today dozens of us walked up to Picnic Hill for our annual HalloFest Employee Luncheon. We had some delicious bratwurst, potato salad and root beer floats for dessert.
Although many of us were hesitant about dressing up, as soon as we saw the “Halloween Costume Contest Prizes” section on the invitation, you better believe we were all over our costumes.
Check out some of the costumes from today’s luncheon…
Costumes included: Crazy Cat Lady, Queen of Hearts, Bruce Jenner and Bat Girl!
Every year Fairplex hosts a neighborhood Halloween party, inviting families in the surrounding community to the campus for an afternoon of games, prizes, crafts, treats, bounce houses, dancing and other kid-friendly festivities. Check out the fun:

One of the things we love about living in Los Angeles is the excellent variety of things to do on a nightly basis–and those options double when it’s a holiday. So, without further a due, your Halloween L.A. Weekender:
Theme park horrors: If you haven’t had a chance yet, Knott’s Scary Farm, Universal Studio’s Halloween Horror Nights and Mickey’s Halloween Party are still going strong this weekend. The final days are sometimes the most fun because the monsters are soaking in their last glorifying scary moments via your timid selves.
Los Angeles Haunted Hayride: Griffith Park: home to murder, torture, paranormal activity, abduction and legends. The area surrounding the “Old Zoo” and “B Rock” come back to life on this haunted hayride through one of the scariest areas of Los Angeles.
There is a reason why the theme this year is “Based On Actual Events.”
The Purge: Fear The Night: New to L.A. this year, The Purge event invites guests to venture into the film itself. Six floors of horrors awaits you. In a world where “crime is legal for one day of the year,” it’s immersive horror theater at it’s finest. Guests must be 18 and older to enter.
Danny Elfman: If you’re a Tim Burton fan you’ll love this one. Head down to the Nokia Theater for an evening of listening to Danny Elfman’s masterpieces including the soundtrack from The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice and Edward Scissor-hands. Tonight is your last chance to see him.
Nightmare Before Christmas at the El Capitan: Keeping to the theme of Danny Elfman/Tim Burton, The Nightmare Before Christmas is showing at the El Capitan Theater. The film includes new 4D sensory effects and digital Disney 3-D to make the experience come to life like it never has before. A “making of” exhibit also adds to the fun. Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office upon arrival.
Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare: This weekend is your last chance to be weirded out by Rob Zombie’s creative imagination. Mazes, concerts, the Bloody Boulevard and more await you if you choose this option for your Halloween fun. The event runs all weekend long with a new music lineup each night. www.greatamericannightmare.com
Whether you plan to get the pants scared off of you, spend some time basking in the talents of Danny Elfman and Tim Burton or just staying in with candy and a Hallween classic, we hope you have a fun and safe Halloween.
Halloween is the perfect opportunity to go all out at the office. We’re still somewhat in the spirit of Fair and Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare rallies for it’s final run starting tonight, so of course we are all about this holiday cheap inflatable water slides for sale.
Upon entering the office I was greeted by cheers and laughter. When I entered the hallway it wasn’t hard to see why! A brightly colored group of Fairplex employees decided to dress up to the fullest: nerds, Disney characters, goblins and Pink Ladies…
The sales team nerding out
The Fairey Blogster proved she can write and bake when she brought Witch Cupcakes.
You don’t even need fancy baking equipment for these. She made the little ribbons on the “hat” by filling a sandwich bag with frosting and cutting a little hole in the corner to make them.
Even if you don’t have the biggest sweet tooth, it’s hard to resist taking one for yourself. It’s Pinterest-worthy, I think We’ll be posting a special Halloween L.A. Weekender later today too, in case you don’t have plans for tonight. Happy Halloween! Have fun and be safe tonight!
There are only a few days left until Halloween! We hope you’ve chosen your costumes and are as excited as we are about the influx of candy and parties that are coming our way. This weekend and next will be fully loaded with Halloween-themed events and we’ve circled up some of the best ones for this L.A. Weekender.
Oktoberfest Final Weekend: We couldn’t let a weekender slip by without a shout-out to Oktoberfest! It’s our last weekend of the year for lagers and ales, tons of toasts, warm, tasty German-themed food and contests and games aplenty. We’re sad to see it come to an end (giant beer steins and rock music are kind of a favorite of ours) but we enjoyed it to the fullest! Come party with us one last time, Thursday-Sunday. www.oktoberfestatfairplex.com
Bubble Run 5k: Colorful foam + 5k race = endorphin-laden fun. The Bubble Run is coming to Fairplex this Saturday as our grounds are transformed into brightly colored foam zones, perfect for the whole family. Participants run the three-mile trek through our grounds and get foamed-out at four different foam bogs. At the end, runners and spectators alike celebrate at a huge dance party. Not a bad start to a Saturday… www.bubblerun.com
Boo at the Los Angeles Zoo: Taking the Halloween spirit out to North Hollywood, the Los Angeles Zoo is having its own celebration.Visitors are invited to wear their wildest costumes and enjoy a trick-or-treat trek through the Zoo. Kids can watch pumpkin carving demonstrations, do arts & crafts and encounter some of the zoo’s creepiest animals. http://www.lazoo.org/
Cirque de Soleil: Totem: If you need a break from all the Halloween hullabaloo, check out one of the newest Cirque de Soleil shows: Totem. Charting the evolution of man from its original amphibian to its ultimate desire to fly, the show boasts a variety of ancient myths displayed through acrobatics and other forms of artistic expression. You can see it this weekend at Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro.
Whatever you decide to do this weekend, have fun and be safe!
