LACF is adding a new component to the do-it-yourself (DIY) and culinary competitions this year with the brand-new DIY Design Studio.
Upon entering, guests feel as if they have stepped into the virtual world of Pinterest, surrounded by DIY workshops and entries submitted by other Fairgoers. Our creative team is busy putting it all together and took us on a quick tour of the soon-to-be studio. After seeing it for ourselves, we can vouch that this will be every crafter’s paradise.
With Halloween just a few months after the Fair ends, guests can see DIY witch’s brews, pumpkins, trick o’ treat bags and other fun Halloween home decor ideas.
Down another hall are Christmas trees and fun holiday displays. Live workshops will be held in the studio including lessons in jewelry making, quilting, knitting and tablescaping.
Pops of orange, blue, green, fuchsia and other bright hues set the tone for the studio. Inspiration can be gleaned from every corner, from workroom accessory ideas to color schemes and practical decor for your laundry room.
“We don’t make anything you can’t make yourself,” Kathy Wadham, director of creative programming said. “You can be creative without spending money, and that’s what we want to show you here.”
We can’t wait to see the completed project come Fair time!
