Barbie™ vs. Jedi Knights – Who Wins?

August 22, 2008

OMG! Have you heard? Barbie™ – yes that Barbie™ with the trademark symbol after her name!- will be at the L.A. County Fair DAILY!!! (squeal, squeal, squeal!). The Fair-ey Blogster is a HUGE Barbie™ fan as are many of you girls young and old. This is big! The perfect woman with beautiful hair and whose feet have amazing arches for wearing high heels all day long – whether she is an astronaut, teacher, veterinarian or championship horsewoman.
Barbie™ will be meeting her fans in the Family Marketplace during Barbie™ Meet & Greets Wednesdays-Fridays: noon, 1:30, 3, 4:30, 6, 7:30 and 9 p.m.; and Saturdays-Sundays: 11 a.m., 12:30, 2, 3:30, 4:30, 6, 7:30 and 9 p.m.
Barbie™ will be at the Princess Dream House. At the Dream House, visit the Pretty and Pink Beauty Parlor for some pampering fun complete with hair braiding, painted nails and face painting. You’ll be the belle of the ball in this glamorous world! Practice your culinary skills in Sprinkles Kitchen and decorate your very own cookie with frosting and candies – the possibilities are endless! Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a model? In this Dream World you can play dress up with clothes from the princess runway. You can also try on various outfits reminiscent of numerous career opportunities including doctor, rock star, jet pilot, firefighter, chef, World Cup goalie – the possibilities are endless – and participate in our very own fashion show. Travel in style… where else but the L.A. County Fair can you have your picture taken in an awesome pink flowered golf cart?
I know, I know – but the Fair-ey Blogster loves girly pink stuff, what can I say? Except that I also like light sabers and that husky gravelly voice of Darth Vader. So, I’ll also be spending time with the characters from Star Wars, who will also be at the Family Marketplace for meet and greets with fans. Star Wars Meet & Greets are throughout the day on opening weekend only, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 6 and 7.
And if saying hi to a wookie or a storm trooper isn’t enough for you, how about enrolling in the Jedi Lightsaber Academy? The academy runs Saturday, Sept. 6 at 11:30 a.m., 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 7 at noon, 2 and 4:30 p.m.
You’ll see me there – the crazy lady with the long blonde wig swooshing around a pink light saber.

  1. Could my child bring in his own lightsaber or would that be considered a weapon? I do have to applaud you. The Fair last year was the best and cleanest one yet. My son really had a great time.

  2. OMG! My daughter and her BFF will absolutely love seeing a real-life Barbie. Will she be signing autographs?

  3. Sorry Tom – no offense to anyone intended. I’m thinking “oh my gosh” in the usage of omg. I will spell it out from now on.

  4. Thanks. That would be better. We love the fair every year.
