Men knit. Lots of men, turns out. In fact, the first knitters were most likely male Arabian sailors. Kyle Kunnecke, of Los Angeles, began knitting when he was homesick. Now he attends men’s knitting retreats all over the country where he meets knitting truck drivers, teachers, waiters and businessmen. This year he won second prize in the Fair’s “Men Knit, Too” contest with his hand-knit sweater. First place winner was Eliel Quiles.
