10 Days? Yup, 10 Days

That’s right – 10 days until we open. The colorful Fair flags have been up for a few weeks, teasing motorists by wrapping themselves around their poles at the slightest wind, as if keeping a secret, then once again whipping out the Fair’s logo for all to see. Trucks and trailers are driving in daily, hauling the backbones of carnival rides and shells of food stands that will soon be buzzing with activity. Staff is working at a nearly 24/7-pace now to erect signs, paint stages, install lighting and make sure every detail is perfect for when you arrive beginning Aug. 31. Here is a look at what I found on my walk this morning around the grounds: 
 
 Pretty exciting, isn’t it? The last photo – I want to entice you with. Hot off the presses, the printing presses that is, is our exclusive Hot Blog on a Stick T-shirts. The baseball jersey features the HBOS logo. We’ll be giving them away here on the blog and on Facebook. To start things off, I’ll give a world-famous HBOS tee to the first person who responds in the comments section with the answer to this: what is a baby stingray called?
