The LA County Fair gives back to the community through different school and local community based programs, but there are different ways you can come to the fair to have a great time and feel good about giving back to the community.
Fairgoers who come to the Fair can receive free admission by donating five new packaged school supplies on Wednesdays between noon and 5 p.m.
Recipients of the school suppy donations are local community schools, Inland Empire Unified Ways School Tools Program and LAUSD.
Last year we nearly filled up 12 pallets worth of school supplies!
Fairgoers can also donate five canned goods (per person) and receive free admission on Thursdays between noon and 5 p.m. The canned food will be donated to local food banks and charities.
If you are trying to go the extra mile when it comes to giving back, you can also donate blood through LifeStream Blood Bank every Wednesday and Thursday on the fairgrounds!
“We’ve brought our latest and best blood bank on wheels to the LA County Fair so fairgoers feel as comfortable and safe as they can when donating ” LifeStream Blood Bank Area Representative Eva Flores said. ” Summertime is a tough time for all blood banks, so we’re hoping to reach as many people as possible to make sure that we are always prepared to provide for hospitals at a moments notice.”
The blood bank on wheels not only helps fairgoers provide for the community, but all the equipment inside is run on solar power energy!
The LifeStream mobile blood bank is at the LA County Fair every Wednesday and Thursday during Fair hours.
