I realize that this makes me somewhat of a \u201cnerd\u201d to most, but I\u2019d like to think of it as necessary preparation\u2026 it\u2019s not every day that I get to wear a dress and hat, so I wanted to ensure that I was doing everything properly. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;\">I have to say that my research has yielded some fascinating information! I would like to share with you what I found to be most helpful.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;\">How to wear your Kentucky Derby Hat:<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-424\" title=\"derbyhat\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.fairplex.com\/blog\/fairblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/derbyhat-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"derbyhat\" width=\"147\" height=\"138\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0pt;\" type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;\">Placed down on the head, with just one finger\u2019s width over the eyebrow to the hat\u2019s brim.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;\">Pull the hat down onto the head, so that the crown is touching the top of the head.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;\">Tilt your hat slightly to one side.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;\">Just the hat and the face should be the focal point.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;\">Now I have to say that I am VERY grateful for the above tips. Having never worn anything more than a baseball cap before, I had no idea that there was so much involved! See?? And you all thought I was being nerdy! Ha! <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;\">The Kentucky Derby is more than just magnificent horses, calculated wagering, and delectable mint juleps; it is also a true day of fashion! The best part is that you don\u2019t have to head out to Churchill Downs just to be part of the fun.
