It’s hard to believe that 2017 is almost over. We’re ready to close out the year with plenty of holiday cheer here at Fairplex, from toy drives to holiday shopping. Keep reading to see what we have planned for the most wonderful time of the year:

HarvestFestival 300x189 December at Fairplex Harvest Festival (Dec 1-3): Holiday shopping starts here! The Original Harvest Festival Arts & Crafts Show is the perfect place to find unique handmade gifts. Immerse yourself in an atmosphere of cheery holiday music, twinkling lights and sweet and savory treats as you shop hundreds of artisan goods.

Located in Expo Hall 4. General admission is $9 with discounts for seniors, military and kids. Parking $10 at Gate 17 on Fairplex Drive. For tickets & additional event information, visit harvestfestival.com

pomonaswapmeet 300x300 December at Fairplex Pomona Swap Meet (Dec. 3): Shop, swap and sell at the last Pomona Swap Meet of 2017!

Shop thousands of car parts and accessories, enjoy the sight of hundreds of classic cars, and chat with fellow auto enthusiasts.

Sunday, Dec. 3. 5 a.m. – 2 p.m. Parking $10 at Gate 17. General admission is $10, children 12 & under are free! More info available at pomonaswapmeet.com.

Fairplex Events twilightcruise 300x200 December at Fairplex NHRA Museum Twilight Cruise & Toy Drive (Dec. 6): The December Twilight Cruise includes the annual Toy Drive! Cars cruising in with an unwrapped toy or gift of $5 or more in value will receive free admission to the cruise. All gifts will benefit the CHIPS for Kids annual campaign, which provides toys to at-risk local youth and families.

Walgreens will also be on hand to sell toys and gifts if you don’t have time to shop beforehand. ALL customs, exotics, hot rods and sports cars are welcome, no matter the year!

As a special holiday gift, the NHRA Motorsports Museum will be offering free admission after 3 p.m. Browse the museum gift shop for the hot rodder in your life! More information at fairplex.com.

HolidayHalf 300x189 December at Fairplex Holiday Half Marathon (Dec. 9 & 10) Kick of winter break at the most wonderful run of the year! The fun starts on Saturday, Dec.10 with the Health & Fitness Expo, Ugly Sweater 5K and the Kids 1K Penguin Waddle.

Runners can also register during this time. The actual half marathon is on Sunday, with runners starting their race at Fairplex. For registration information, schedule of events and more, click here.

jurassic 300x227 December at Fairplex Jurassic Quest (Dec. 29 – Jan 1): Jurassic Quest is a dinosaur adventure for the whole family. Encounter life-size animatronic dinosaurs, explore the T-rex and Triceratops fossil digs, run through inflatable mazes, try your hand at Dino crafts and much more.

Admission is $20 for kids ages 2-12 and adults with discounts for seniors and members of the military and police. Open Friday, 3 – 8 p.m. and Saturday – Monday, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. For more event information, click here.

Happy December! Where has the year gone… it seems like just yesterday we were making plans for the 2015 LA County Fair. As usual, we still have plenty of things to do at Fairplex as we welcome the holiday season. Take your pick:

twilight cruise December at FairplexProlong Twilight Cruise + Toy Drive (Dec 2): Catch the last Twilight Cruise of the year at Fairplex! Show off your prettiest hot rods, grab a beer and some friends, and wind down your week with fellow car lovers. In true holiday spirit, the event is running its’ annual Toy Drive! swap meet December at FairplexPomona Swap Meet & Classic Car Show (Dec 6): Now is the time to show off all that hard work you’ve spent on your cars! Whether you’ve been refurbishing a truck or polishing up your favorite hot rod, no one will appreciate your labor of love more than the attendees at the Pomona Swap Meet. train museum December at FairplexRailGiants Train Museum (Dec. 12-13): Take a historical journey back to the glory days of the American Railroad at the RailGiants Train Museum. It’s free to the public and enjoyable for train lovers of all ages. Learn more about the exhibit here.

holiday half marathon December at FairplexHoliday Half-Marathon (Dec 13-14): Run off the last of the Thanksgiving pounds (or just stock up for those extra holiday calories) at the Holiday Half-Marathon! garden railroad December at FairplexFairplex Garden Railroad (Dec 14): There’s nothing quite like the magic of this miniature world, sitting right here at Fairplex. Explore detailed scenic displays, including replicas of some of Pomona’s oldest and most beloved buildings. Our volunteers are always working on new projects and are happy to share on the latest updates!

Adios L.A. County Fair, Hello Yearling Sale, Twilight Cruise & Off Road Expo

The dust has barely settled in the Big Red Barn. The last semi-trailer has rolled through the gates with its Fair cargo on board while busy Fairplex events staff start the preparations for the next great Fairplex year-round event.

Twilight Cruisers are back for their Wednesday night confab on Oct. 7, 4 – 8 p.m. in the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum parking lot. Stop by for a beer and a dog and meet a really nice group of car fans.

Big things happen Friday, Oct. 9 – Sunday, Oct. 11 when the 10th Annual Fall Off Road Expo returns.

We’re Baaack.

The Fair has packed up and moved on until next year and the Fair-ey Blogster is taking a well-deserved break. This means that all those buildings and grounds are available for a spectacular line-up of fall events.

Starting things off on Wednesday, Oct. 1, Twilight Cruisers will fill the lower administration parking lot in front of the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum for an evening of car camaraderie and nostalgia. There’s also a pretty cool 50/50 raffle where you can win some cash. You might also be selected by a panel of judges to drive your “ride” in the parade that kicks off the NHRA Winter Finals in November at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona, which is also right here at Fairplex.

All Twilight Cruisers can spend some time in the NHRA Museum, also for free (admission is usually $7), so it’s a double-dip FAIRPLEX FREEBIE.

There’s more for autophiles Friday. Oct. 3 – Sunday, Oct. 5 when Off-Road Expo fills no fewer than six Fairplex exhibit halls as well as various ground locations. Now in its 9th year at Fairplex, this event has everything for the off-road enthusiast, including the latest toys, technologies, gear and accessories from hundreds of national and local exhibitors.

There are amazing show discounts as well as live-action entertainment including the world debut of Side X Side Super Jam Drifting; W.E.ROCK Rock Crawling Demonstrations; Freestyle Motocross Action; a Toyota Off-Road Ride and Drive; a BF Goodrich $5,000 Shopping Spree; Kids’ Zone and more!

New this year, the Expo will open one day early, on Friday, Oct. 3 to allow more time for off-road fans to enjoy all the action.
