It was merry and bright at the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel last weekend! Families gathered for a fun day of holiday movies, pictures with Santa and donated toys to be shared with less fortunate children in the community.
The holiday cheer continues this Friday when we cater for the Boys & Girls Club of Pomona holiday party. We can’t wait!
Since its inception, the competition has maintained the highest standards of integrity and professionalism, earning USA Today’s recognition as one of the Top 5 wine competitions in the United States. Due to the competition’s popularity, this year over 3,000 wines from around the globe will be sniffed, swirled and tasted by a panel of approximately 85 international judges.
Once upon a timethere was a land of deep-fried Twinkies, sparkling Ferris wheels and farm animals. This place was called the L.A. County Fair…
Every year in September, Fairplex campus transforms into a glittering world of carnival rides, concerts, acrobats and food galore. For the lucky few (1.4 million, to be exact) who journeyed here, this play land will forever be known as the Fair.
So exactly what happens when the rides are packed away? Do the grounds just become a wasteland of discarded trash and fading memories? Or are new stories created instead?
The Fair ends but the story is far from over…
Tucked into a corner of Fairplex, often forgotten during the Fair’s bustling presence lies the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel. Between the the hotel pavilions, gardens and ballrooms there are plenty of sites perfect for everyone’s favorite fairy tale: the wedding day.

First, there’s turkey, of which you can eat an abundance at McKinley’s Grille family style Turkey Day feast. Then there are birds of the pet variety at Everybody’s Bird Mart, Sunday, Nov. 29 (Please be respectful. Don’t mention that you ate turkey on Thanksgiving).
The tastings for this event are award winners from this year’s competition (3,400 entries from around the globe). It’s a great way to try out some of these wines without making a commitment to a whole bottle.
It’s an affordable $25 per person and it includes many tastings and some great food go-withs from the McKinley’s Grille executive chef, David Teig. Unless you’re a really big eater, there’s plenty of food (and wine!) for a light summer supper.
