Pro Stock Championships
Jason Line took the Pro Stock championship this year. This marked Line’s third win, his first two from the 2006 and 2011 finals. Watch Jason Line’s strong finish below:

Top Fuel Championship
Antron Brown took the Top Fuel championship for the second year in a row, the first to do so since Tony Schumacher in 2008/2009.

After the excitement of the weekend, the raceway goes quiet once more, but will come back to life in February for the NHRA Winternationals, the start to another season, and another story.

For the third straight year, Red Bull Straight Rhythm took over Fairplex this past weekend for the most unique race in the world of professional motocross. Fans from all across the SoCal visited our campus with family and friends to cheer their favorites riders. This Supercross game changer took place on a 1/2-mile “unwound” racetrack — no turns, just a half-mile-long straight rhythm section. This year featured a revised format where practice, qualifying and racing all took place on the same day, with the final taking place at night under the lights to crown the 2016 Red Bull Straight Rhythm champion.

Congratulations to Marvin Musquin for winning the 2016 Red Bull Straight Rhythm’s Open Class and to Shane McElrath for winning the Lite Class!

Fairplex Weekend Recap: Opening Weekend of Oktoberfest

Fairplex campus buzzed with fun this weekend! Keep reading to see what went down:

Oktoberfest Opening Weekend

Oktoberfest at Fairplex opened this weekend to a crowd 10,000 guests, dead set on eating, drinking and being merry. And merry they were!

Oktoberfest at Fairplex

In the Festhalle, The Rheinlanders Oom-Pah-Pah band carried guests through an evening of the Chicken Dance, conga lines and beer chugging contests. Meanwhile, guests in the courtyard rocked out with Journey tribute band DSB, played carnival games and chowed down on German fare (and King Taco.)

An enticing array of bratwurst, hamburgers, chicken and hot dogs were served, accompanied by sauerkraut, grilled onions and grilled bell peppers for toppings. Huge pretzels and thick cut Belgian fries were the perfect pairing for all the beer being consumed…

AMA Pro Flat Track Finals

Meanwhile, the AMA Pro Flat Track Finals were taking place at the Grandstand Saturday night. From our view at Oktoberfest, we could see clouds of dust and hear the roar of engines late into the evening.

AMA Pro Flat Track Finals

A special congratulations to Jared Mees for claiming his second career overall Grand National Championship this past weekend! You can read the full recap of the night’s events on the AMA website.

Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival

Returning to Fairplex for the 20th year in a row, the Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival welcomed crafters of all ages to three days of creative workshops, seminars and shopping of the most up-to-date sewing, crafting, quilting and needlework tools.

Fairplex Weekend Recap: Straight Rhythm and Off-Roading

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly our campus flips for events. Just last weekend our campus was filled with carnival rides, food and shopping vendors and animals. In less than a week, we have changed hats from the Los Angeles County Fair to the host of an exciting, dirt-filled playground for off-road experts and enthusiasts.

Gayle Anderson and KTLA cover the Off-Road Expo

Off-road demos, Rubicon trail ride alongs, motocross trials and an RC demo track are just some of the activities the Off-Road Expo offered to fans as young as five to as old as 52.

Meanwhile, Red Bull took over our historic Auto Club Raceway for the debut of the evolutionary Straight Rhythm races, where dozens of motocross pros went head-to-head in a competition comprised of speed and daring on a 1/2-mile long track.
