Fairplex Weekend Recap: Beer, breakthroughs, and trains

April 11, 2016

We had a great time at Fairplex this weekend. See what went down (rain or no rain!) on all parts of campus:

Breakthrough For Brain Tumors 5K
The American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) held their LA fundraiser run at Fairplex this Saturday and raised $130,785! It was inspiring to see so many people turn out in support of their family and friends dealing with brain cancer.

The Breakthrough donations will go towards brain cancer research and patient programs through the ABTA.

Los Angeles International Beer Competition
Tucked into a cozy corner of campus, beer judges sampled brews from around the world inside the Wine, Spirits & Beer Marketplace. Check back later for the results!

The winning entries will be featured at our LA On Tap festival on May 7. We can’t wait to sample all of them (and feast on food trucks, of course.)

Trains at Fairplex
The Fairplex Garden Railroad and the RailGiants Train Museum were open to the public this weekend. Guests were able to see the latest updates to the miniature railroad, and hop aboard historic steam engines at the RailGiants Museum!
