Fairplex Weekend Recap: Asian American Expo and MLK Day of Service

January 20, 2015

Another fun weekend at Fairplex has come and gone. The Asian American Expo brought hundreds of visitors to campus for Lunar New Year celebrations.

Rows and rows of food booths and shopping vendors, live martial arts, dance and music demonstrations and the Lunar Palooza nighttime event featured a diverse mix of cultures into the expo.

After the hoopla of the weekend, a much quieter Martin Luther King Day of Service project took place on The Farm at Fairplex.

University of La Verne students and Bright Horizons boys’ home residents joined forces to help out at The Farm. Don DeLano, our resident horticulturist, taught volunteers how to harvest crops, plant seeds and till the soil in vegetable beds.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and services to our Farm!
