Fairplex Weekend Recap: Straight Rhythm and Off-Roading

October 6, 2014

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly our campus flips for events. Just last weekend our campus was filled with carnival rides, food and shopping vendors and animals. In less than a week, we have changed hats from the Los Angeles County Fair to the host of an exciting, dirt-filled playground for off-road experts and enthusiasts.

Off-road demos, Rubicon trail ride alongs, motocross trials and an RC demo track are just some of the activities the Off-Road Expo offered to fans as young as five to as old as 52.

Meanwhile, Red Bull took over our historic Auto Club Raceway for the debut of the evolutionary Straight Rhythm races, where dozens of motocross pros went head-to-head in a competition comprised of speed and daring on a 1/2-mile long track.

James Stewart and Marvin Musquin took the winning titles for the day. The inaugural Straight Rhythm event welcomed back motocross/supercross pro Travis Pastrana of Nitro Circus, returning after a five-year hiatus from the sport.

Just another weekend here at Fairplex! We can’t wait to kick-off Oktoberfest this Friday, not to mention all the other exciting things we have in store. Keep reading for updates on all our events.
