Fairplex Weekend Recap: Vans Warped Tour, Cheers and Everybody’s Birdmart

June 23, 2014

Things have finally quieted down at Fairplex after a full weekend of concerts, food, drinks and dancing. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick of the first weekend of summer!

20th Anniversary Vans Warped Tour

It was hot, crowded and loud at Fairplex on Friday. Tons of rock music lovers turned out for a full day of bands like We The Kings, Yellowcard, Devil Wears Prada, Falling In Reverse and myriad others. Band meet & greets, food trucks, a giant slip n’ slide, clothing vendors and DJs rounded out a perfect afternoon and evening of fun in the sun. You can watch behind-the-scenes videos and other fun goodies on www.vanswarpedtour.com.

No sooner did Warped Tour wrap up than Cheers opened on Saturday evening. As the sun set behind the San Gabriel mountains, Fairplex came alive with music, dancing, clinking glasses and a tantalizing array of food trucks. Guests spent the summer solstice sampling a seemingly endless supply of award-winning wines, spirits and beers from the Los Angeles International Competitions, participate in a silent auction benefiting The Learning Centers at Fairplex and dance their way through the Cupid Shuffle, salsa, Top 40 and other fun tunes. All in all, a success!

Everybody’s Birdmart

Everybody’s Birdmart

Bird lovers flocked together for an afternoon perusing cages, nests, vitamins, toys, treats and other fun items for their pets. It’s always fun to see the exotic birds on display and to learn exactly how many toys birds can possibly own, treats they like to devour and habitats they live in.

Things are going to be fairly quiet around here this week but our annual 4th of July event, KABOOM! is just around the corner. We’re ready for a night full of monster trucks, motocross and one of the largest fireworks spectaculars in all of California.

Happy Monday!
