Fair Snapshot: Fairplex Garden Railroad

September 20, 2015

The Fair has seen many exhibits come and go, but this fan favorite holds as one of the longest-standing attractions at LACF — the historic Fairplex Garden Railroad.

Miniature buildings (many paying tribute to the city of Pomona, like the Fox Theater and the new Masonic Lodge), gardens, homes and water features dot the land, as trains, buses, trucks and cars lazily meander along the train tracks and roadways.
The FGRR originally came to the Fairgrounds in 1924. Since then it has grow into one of the largest miniature garden railroads in the nation, expanding to the vast world it is today.
If you haven’t stopped by yet, we highly recommend taking a look! The railroad is also open year-round, on select weekends.
FAIR TIP: For an entirely different experience at the Fair, visit the Garden Railroad at night, when all the buildings light up and the miniature world transforms into a bustling, thriving world, unique to anything else at LACF.
