The World's Largest Classroom

September 19, 2008

More than 17,000 students visited the Fair today as part of the FairKids Discovery Club field trip program. Each year the Fair hosts more than 100,000 students, teachers and chaperones – all for free! Where else can they see where milk comes from, how to weave a sweater from wool, learn all about bugs and see snow in the middle of September?
Sponsors contribute to the Big Yellow Bus program, which offers transportation for some of the schools to get here. All in all, it’s a great program, educational and entertaining.

  1. I was at the Fair on Friday and saw many of the school children gather in the Big Red Barn. Watching them get so excited about the animals is just as entertaining as the animals themselves! Sky Shivers presents an amazing learning experience – just look for his big hat!
