Dare To Care: American Red Cross

Today we had the pleasure of donating $12,625 to the American Red Cross, San Gabriel Pomona Valley Chapter! The ARC was the recipient of proceeds from our Week For Heroes.

The American Red Cross and LA County Fair teams pose for the presenting of the check (October 17, 2016)

Our Week For Heroes honors military and law enforcement with special admission, a portion of which goes to  ARC for general relief services. It was an honor to partner with them, alongside our Week for Heroes guests this year at the Fair.

In addition to this partnership, as also worked with ARC for blood drives throughout the Fair. A total of 1,765 pints were collected during these Fair drives.

Neither of these donation partnerships would have been possible without you — our guests. We would like to take this time to thank not only the American Red Cross for being our partner again this year, but all our Week For Heroes guests and Fair blood donors.

Dare to care!

LACF Community Partnerships: American Red Cross

Community partnerships are a staple of the LA County Fair. Today we had the honor of handing over an $8,065 check to the American Red Cross San Gabriel Pomona Valley Chapter.

Each year the Fair hosts Week for Heroes, where a portion of all law enforcement and military personnel ticket admissions goes towards a local charity. This year we chose the American Red Cross and we are glad to have them as community partners.

Thank you to all of our guests who contributed towards making this donation possible!

Week for Heroes at LACF

#NeverForget: It’s been 14 years since the 9/11 attacks shook the entire world. As we prepare for another day at the Fair, we remember those who died in the attacks, those who were injured by selflessly running toward danger to help others, our veterans and those in uniform who continue to serve and protect our great country.

To honor our heroes, Week for Heroes continues at the Fair until Sunday, September 13 – $2 admission for active & retired military, reserves, fire, police and paramedics w/ID and $2 admission for one guest. Proceeds benefit the American Red Cross.

Thank you all for your service, dedication and sacrifices!

Give a Pint, Save a Life, Then Celebrate at the Fair

Did you know that every two seconds, someone in the United States needs a blood transfusion? Or that blood is perishable, that red blood cells have a shelf life of only 42 days and and platelets just five days? The American Red Cross and blood donation sites throughout Southern California are in desperate need of donors. Summer is always a tough season with blood supplies needing major replenishment, but this year it’s particularly dire, according to the ARC.
