Nothin' Like The Great Outdoors!

September 18, 2016

While the carnival rides & games, farm animals and deep-fried food take center stage with Fair fans, America’s Great Outdoors is one of the many exhibits unique to the LA County Fair.

Here, guests can escape from the colorful chaos of the rest of the Fair and take a step into the wilderness. Meet with foresters and rangers at The Ranger Station, learn how they preserve, protect and manage our public lands, like our beautiful national parks.
Check out the native reptiles of Southern California, like our state reptile – the desert tortoise, and become familiar with our state’s native plants.
Camp Smokey is ran by none other than Smokey the Bear, who teaches our Fair guests about the importance of fire safety, with the help of his friends: Woodsy Owl, Mojave Maxine and Seymour Antelope.
Learn all about the history of the Westward Movement at our Yesterday and Today exhibit — from the native people of California, to the struggles and triumphs of the mountain men, and even meet two of America’s living legends: a wild horse and burro.
In addition to all of these, we also have a special National Parks Museum paying tribute to our National Parks Service as they celebrate their centennial birthday.
There’s so much to explore at the Fair this year, and just a few days left to do it. Visit lacountyfair.com for tickets, special offers and to see more of what we have to offer this year!
