Oktoberfest/Dodger game:
We can’t speak for everyone, but when the clock hits 6 p.m. on Friday our first instincts are to find beer, food and fun in that order. Oktoberfest is the answer to our prayers (and it’s only a few steps away from the office!) We spent the better part of last weekend loading up on giant pretzels, bratwurst and bacon/cheese/sour-cream laden waffle fries. The beer was pretty delicious too! $5 admission, open 6 p.m. – midnight tonight and Saturday, noon – 6 p.m. on Sunday.

P.S. Tonight is Game 6 of the National League Championship Series and the Dodgers are playing against the Cardinals in St. Louis. While we can’t transport you all the way out there, we do have screens set up at Oktoberfest so you can cheer on the boys in blue, drink some beer and rep that L.A. pride. www.oktoberfestatfairplex.com

Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare: It’s Halloween season which means it’s time to get a little scared. Or really scared. Rob Zombie has brought his unique visionary talents to Fairplex and set up his personalized house of horrors: three mazes of straight up weird, and Bloody Boulevard where bands like The Used, 3Oh!3 and other metal, punk and EDM favorites are playing each night. There’s also great food, drinks and clowns with chainsaws, so if that’s your cup of tea… have at it! www.greatamericannightmare.com

Pumpkin Festival: Right down the street from us, Cal Poly Pomona is having their 21st annual Pumpkin Festival on Oct. 19th and Oct. 20th. Families can choose pumpkins to carve, play games and run through a corn maze. A petting zoo, horse rides and other fun activities will be going on all weekend long. Parking and admission are free!

Have a great weekend!
